Background information: Harvey^8 Van Wickle (William^7, John^6, John^5, Nicasius^4 (Nicholas), Simon^3, Evert^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes), b. abt 1860, OH. He married Clarissa Buell (b. abt 1863, MI).

Children: none by marriage of Harvey to Clarissa (Clarissa marries to Gardner L. Stewart in 1885. Not sure about fate of Harvey, but cannot locate him after the 1880 US Census for Bloomingdale, MI when he is married to Clarissa. Gardner and Clarissa have three children--Marie, Eva, and Allie--between Feb 1887 and June 1890. Clarissa apparently dies soon after 1890 and Gardner remarries to Josephine Thayer 12 November 1893. 1850 US Census for Lyons, Wayne, NY lists John R. Van Wickle, 75, farmer, b. NJ with wife, Nancy, 52, b. NJ and Angeline, 20, Harvey, 23, carpenter, William, 16--all children b. NY. Also in household is Wm Youngs, farmer, 40, b. NY

Ancestry.com civil war information for William B. Van Wickle: Enlisted 15 February 1864 Union Army at age 29. Assigned to Co. C, 13th Michigan Infantry Regiment on 23 Feb 1864. Was a POW on 24 March 1865 at Goldsboro, NC. Discharged from Co. C, 13th I.R. Michigan on 3 June 1865 in Detroit, MI. William filed for Civil War pension benefits at Johnstown, Barry, MI on 26 June 1892 and his wife, Mary A. Van Wickle filed for Civil War pension benefits 21 June 1907, Michigan--after William died on 11 June 1907.

MI, Rosalinda Buell, 2, b. MI, and Edna Gage Buell, 9 mos., b. MI (The Buell family lives just a few doors away from the Van Wickle family.)

1900 US Census for Chestnut Street, Bloomingdale, Van Buren, MI lists Gardner L. Stewart, head, 49, b. Apr 1851, OH (OH, OH), M-6, railroad ticket agent, with wife Josephine, 40, b. July 1859, MI (NY, NY), and Marie, 13, b. Feb 1887, MI (OH, MI), Eva, 11, b. Dec 1888, MI (OH, MI) and Allie, 9, b. June 1890, MI (OH, MI)  In that Gardner and Josephine were married about 1893, the three daughters listed here must be those from Gardner's marriage to his first wife, Clarissa (Buell) Van Wickle
